The world of professional wrestling is an unforgiving sport and unfortunately, deaths have taken place in the business for one reason or the other. We are sad to report that Andreas Ullman, renowned as the former wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion Absolute Andy, has passed away at the age of 40 after a prolonged illness.

Germany-based promotion wXw took to their Twitter and in a post translated from German, announced this sad news, bidding farewell to one of the most illustrious figures in wXw history. Tragically, Andy succumbed to his prolonged battle with illness, peacefully passing away in the company of his wife.

We say goodbye to one of the most deserving wrestlers in wXw history.

Without a doubt, Absolute Andy is one of the best-known and most popular wrestlers in German-speaking countries. In a career spanning almost 20 years, Absolute Andy has won every major title at wXw. 16 Carat Gold Winner, wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion, wXw Shotgun Champion, 5-time wXw World Tag Team Champion, wXw World Heavyweight Champion. Andy is the only wrestler to have all of these achievements on his resume.

Over 330 times, Andy has laced up his boots for wXw and stepped into the ring against the best of the best. Bryan Danielson, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Jeff Jarrett were among his opponents, as were Walter, Ilja Dragunov and Tommy End. His big tag teams Jay-AA, A-4, AbLas and Champions of Champions are part of our history.

The day before yesterday, Andy lost his long battle against his illness and fell asleep in the presence of his wife. We wish his family and friends a lot of strength during this time and ask you to give them the necessary distance until we can all say goodbye to Andy together in the wXw ring with the respect that his life’s work deserves 💔

Throughout his nearly two-decade-long career, Absolute Andy solidified his status as one of the most recognizable and beloved wrestlers in German-speaking regions. His list of accomplishments within wXw is unparalleled, having claimed every major title the promotion had to offer. From being a 16 16-carat gold Winner to a 5-time wXw World Tag Team Champion, wXw Shotgun Champion, and wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion, Andy’s resume speaks for itself.

Absolute Andy faced off against wrestling veterans such as Bryan Danielson, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Jeff Jarrett, Walter, Ilja Dragunov, and Tommy End. His contributions extended beyond individual matches, as he formed memorable tag teams like Jay-AA, A-4, AbLas, and Champions of Champions.

Andy’s final championship victory took place in December 2021 at wXw’s 21st Anniversary show, where he defeated Norman Harras. His last match was held a month later at Back to the Roots 2022, successfully defending the title against Dennis Dullnig before relinquishing it due to injury. The entire wrestling community mourns the loss of a true icon and we offer our deepest condolences to Andy’s loved ones during this sad time.
