WWE Creative Has Not Been Told Anything About Potential CM Punk Return

CM Punk remains one of the most controversial professional wrestlers on the planet, who continues to get a lot of love as well as hate at the same time. Following his AEW firing, there have been signs that he will finally return to WWE after almost a decade. That said, WWE Creative has not been told anything regarding a potential return for CM Punk.

For the past couple of months, WWE has made several references to CM Punk on their programming. USA Network dropping blatant references further added to the speculation as well, which they have done a couple of times already.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that no one in WWE Creative has not been told anything regarding a potential return for The Second City Saint. That said, anything could change at the drop of a hat.

”Basically every rumor out there has been denied to us regarding backstory and his coming. This is pro wrestling and anything can happen, but stories like he was in front of the board of directors is not accurate.

Those in creative have not been told of anything involving him and those who would normally be in the know about these things, including on the big surprises like Cody Rhodes stuff before anyone else, don’t know anything.

That doesn’t mean he’s not coming, just the back stories regarding his coming aren’t accurate. I was told weeks ago that it was a “no,” just like the other times talks had been opened through his reps. But like any “no” circumstances could change it.

If they feel they need a business jolt, they’ve got it in their back pocket. If they smell blood on the AEW carcass, the Punk move on television can be their shark response. If they believe there is a fan groundswell for it, they could give it a shot.”

Even Grayson Waller referenced CM Punk recently once again.  CM Punk has privately told people that he is not in talks with WWE. That won’t stop reports and rumors from making rounds online. We’ll have to see whether Punk will finally return to WWE once and for all.
