WWE & UFC Fans Accused of Trying to Erase Ronda Rousey’s Accomplishments

Ronda Rousey made her WWE return during the 2022 Royal Rumble event after a nearly three-year absence from the company. While Rousey won the Smackdown Women’s Championship twice since her return, she failed to get any desired reactions from the fans. That said, Shayna Baszler has now accused fans of trying to erase Rousey’s accomplishments.

Ronda Rousey lost to Shayna Baszler at the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live and has been away from WWE ever since. Prior to this, Rousey had been accused of not caring about the WWE women’s division in general.

While speaking to WrestleZone for new interview, Shayna Baszler accused fans of trying to erase Rousey’s accomplishments simply because they do not like the Baddest Woman on The Planet.

“I think Ronda Rousey is, I think she’s under-appreciated. I think people like to hate her for whatever reason, and it’s been that way in MMA — it’s because she doesn’t mince her words. People like to, because they don’t like her personally, they like to try to erase what she’s done for women’s sports, women’s combat sports, the UFC & WWE. They like to minimize that just because they don’t like her personally and I think that’s a shame. I might not be on the best terms [with her], but I will never deny that she did a lot for women’s combat sports. I think she’s under appreciated in some sense.”

Ronda Rousey is set to compete at an indie pro wrestling event this month. It remains to be seen how long The Baddest Woman on The Planet will compete in the independent circuit, before making her way to another major promotion.
