Social media can be a difficult place to operate at times. Eddie Kingston has a lot of experience dealing with fans, but those who spout off negativity on social media behind anonymous monikers is not going to fly with King.

Eddie Kingston holds the ROH World Champion and NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion titles. He has a lot of things to say, but he’s not doing it on social media. He recently discussed this subject in a recent interview with Taylor Wilde on her Wilde On podcast.

The Mad King mentioned that he decided to leave Twitter after noticing negative comments about former AEW women’s champion Riho from other users on the platform. He seems to be okay with missing out on the “nasty sh*t” that he sees every day on Twitter.

I quit Twitter because I saw some nasty sh*t that someone wrote about Riho, and I was having a bad day as it was anyway, and I got COVID. I was supposed to go to Ireland. I got COVID before going to Ireland, so I was already mad and I’m just flipping through my phone, and I saw something. It wasn’t even a person. It was some goosegg gimmick, they didn’t even have a profile picture. It was just some nasty sh*t, and I was like, I’m over this, I’m done. That was it. It just became toxic. It’s worse than MySpace. People would get mad at the Top 8.

Eddie Kingston seems very happy about his decision to step away from X. After all, you never know when things are going to put you in a total funk just because someone wants to post something awful on your timeline.

Social media has certainly come a long way since someone’s Top 8 friends on MySpace mattered to anyone. There are so many more things to worry about now, and there is no denying that at this point. After all, sometimes it can get to be too much, and a break from social media can do someone a lot of good at times.

What’s your take on Eddie Kingston leaving social media? Is that the best idea? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
