October 10th’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw them battle with NXT, and that head-to-head war was quite interesting. AEW made an announcement during the show, as it was announced during the broadcast, but it turns out that this was also a late addition to the show.

Tony Khan announced a big toy give-away during AEW Dynamite’s Title Tuesday. It appears that AEW had to rush to get that announcement approved, and it all went down during that highly-competitive show.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that AEW didn’t get permission to run that Toys for Tots announcement until late in the game. In fact, it reportedly came through during the broadcast.

“We’re told that the Toys for Tots/AEW deal was a fairly late announcement, but got approval during the broadcast last week.”

You never know what AEW will do next to attract attention. They are also gearing up for the Holidays, and that Toys for Tots drive should go on to make a lot of children happy. Hopefully, they made this announcement for the right reason, because it certainly didn’t seem to boost viewership numbers.

AEW lost the WWE NXT on October 10th. Only time will tell when they go head-to-head once again, but this time around, NXT certainly won the night.
