Tony Schiavone recently shared his thoughts on Adam Copeland’s, formerly known as Edge in WWE, unexpected debut in AEW.

The surprise arrival of Adam Copeland at the conclusion of the inaugural AEW WrestleDream event saw him confront his former tag team partner and childhood best friend, Christian Cage. Their face-off marked a significant moment as it also featured an interaction with the legendary Sting, a first in their respective careers.

Tony Schiavone discussed Adam Copeland’s AEW debut on his What Happened When podcast, revealing that he was unaware of Copeland’s presence at the event until that very day.

“I had no idea he was there, but I thought it was great. I thought it was pretty cool when he slides into the room, and he and Christian go face-to-face because I’m looking at them thinking, ‘Man, there’s a legendary tag team, and they’re just staring at each other.’ It was a very, very good moment, and the fans lost their minds as well. So with all that, I thought it was a very good move, but no, I didn’t know, and you know what? That’s cool.”

Moreover, Schiavone mentioned that Adam Copeland participated in a special backstage interview scheduled for the October 4 episode of the AEW Control Center, which precedes the fourth-anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite later that evening.
