AEW has four pillars, and it is hard to imagine the company without Jungle Boy at this point. Jack Perry has evolved since entering into AEW, and now he is on his own. That being said, there was a time when quitting the business was a real possibility if his father had anything to say about it.

Jack Perry is a hated heel in AEW now, after turning on Hook and capturing the FTW Title. He might just retire that title on AEW Dynamite this week.

While speaking to Hey (EW), Jack Perry talked about his career in pro wrestling. His late father, television legend Luke Perry, actually asked him not to wrestle. The 90210 star wanted his son to get a real job.

“He actually asked me not to [wrestle]. He wanted me to get a real job, like be an actor or something, and I don’t know. Somehow I ended up here. You never know, I got a long time left to go. I think there have been less talented people who have done that, so we’ll see.“

Thankfully, Jack Perry did not really listen to his father, and he continued his path in the squared circle. He is still going, and found new life in his AEW career on the heel side of the roster.

Sadly, Luke Perry passed away, but his memory will never be forgotten. Jack Perry will also continue his time in the ring, and we have to think that his father would have been incredibly proud of everything he’s accomplishing in AEW.

What’s your take on this story about Jungle Boy? Should he have listened to his dad and got a real job? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
