Zelina Vega received a nice push from WWE as they rolled into her RAW Women’s Title match against Rhea Ripley at Backlash. That was her last singles program to date, but there is a reason why WWE has pumped the brakes on pushing her by herself.

Ringside News reached out and asked about WWE’s current plan for Zelina Vega. We were told by a tenured member of the creative team that Vega is simply “not a priority over the other women at the forefront at the moment.”

Zelina Vega is part of the LWO and is still on television, but a singles program is not in the works. At this point, she is still incredibly over with fans, and WWE realizes that as well. The LWO is obviously getting a spotlight, and she’s getting part of that shine.

WWE booked Zelina Vega to look stronger than a lot of fans thought she would be against Rhea Ripley at Backlash. In fact, WWE changed around an idea to beat Vega via a squash match, so the two had a nice contest in Puerto Rico, one where Zelina Vega got to execute some of her signature spots.

Elektra Lopez has also spoken about making a WWE main roster jump to take out Zelina Vega. After all, Vega took Lopez’s spot alongside Legado De Fantasma when they were called up to SmackDown. So, that storyline is already there, and ready for WWE if they ever want to pull the trigger on it.

Only time will tell what happens with Zelina Vega in WWE next. She’s having a great time right now, and she is surrounded by an incredibly talented, and over, stable. She also has a thriving career on Twitch, which is something WWE allowed her to keep when she inked a new deal after tumultuous exit involving unionization talks.

What’s your take on how WWE has handled Zelina Vega since her return to the company? Was this run worlds better than her first time around? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
