LA Knight made a significant impression after his debut at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day on February 14th, 2021. He had a big match on SmackDown this week and lost. Now it appears WWE did something interesting after his loss.
As seen on this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Sheamus, LA Knight, Rey Mysterio, and Cameron Grimes competed in a Fatal Four Way match to advance to the finals of the United States Championship Invitational.
LA Knight was the overwhelming favorite heading into the match, as he got a ton of cheers throughout. That didn’t matter in the end as Mysterio ended up winning the match instead of Knight.
As pointed out by a fan on Twitter, WWE kept focus on LA Knight’s reaction after his loss, as he made his way to the back.
LA Knight’s loss is certainly a shocker to many fans. That said, WWE will likely begin pushing him after SummerSlam, so all fans can do right now is wait and hope for the best in his case.
