LA Knight made a huge splash after his debut at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day on February 14th, 2021. He has been in the business for several years and has experienced a lot of ups and downs throughout his career. Now it appears that Knight claimed people have tried to kill his pro wrestling career.
LA Knight was known as Eli Drake in Impact Wrestling, where he became a massive star thanks to his excellent promo skills and in-ring work. All of this led to WWE eventually signing him a couple of years ago.
At 40 years old, Knight is one of the older stars on WWE’s main roster. Many fans have felt whether his age will be a factor in him becoming a major star in Vince McMahon’s company.
While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, LA Knight talked about his career in pro wrestling so far. LA Knight claimed that some people have tried to kill his pro wrestling career. That said, Knight explained that this negativity has helped keep him on his toes.
“I’ve had attempts on my career. And what I mean by that is people trying to kill my career, you know, so there’s a lot of there’s a lot of anger. There’s a lot of frustration, but there’s also a lot of vindication at this point. Some of that anger still so that hate letter to wrestling is still enough. It’s my biggest love and my biggest frustration.
I almost need the negativity push up against in some strange way where it’s like if things are going too well I’m almost just like I think I lost my edge.”
LA Knight will also compete in the Money In The Bank ladder match at the event on July 1st, which is the biggest opportunity in his career so far. We will have to wait and see if Knight will be able to become Mr. Money In The Bank.
