WWE has a lot of things going on, but they also have some people who aren’t actively appearing on television. As Money in the Bank approaches, it seems that Drew McIntyre’s hiatus might be coming to an end.

WWE is trying to work Drew McIntyre into a creative angle. His WWE contract status is also a matter of discussion, because he reportedly hasn’t inked new deal yet.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE has interest in bringing Drew McIntyre back for the Money in the Bank event in London. This could be a big deal for the UK fans to see the former WWE Champion’s return.

There is interest in getting McIntyre back for the 7/1 Money in the Bank show, which makes sense. PWInsider reported meetings and creative pitches for him took place last week and others close to the situation confirmed that to us that it was accurate. He had been banged up and took time off after WrestleMania but wanted creative locked in place before returning.

The logical role is as a heel working with Rollins. The basic gist is that from his standpoint he wants to make sure everything is locked in because unless a new deal is reached it would be his last run at this time and wanted to have it have impact. Of late his family has been dealing with the heartbreaking death of his sister-in-law, who was only 36, which has been his family’s prime concern in recent weeks

We will have to see what Drew McIntyre does at Money in the Bank. That event could be a big night for the Scottish Warrior if they book his return properly.

No mention of Drew McIntyre or tease of his return has gone down on WWE television yet. Hopefully, he will return well-rested and ready to go.
