AEW and WWE are still going to war in the same market, but this isn’t WWE’s first rodeo. Now, it seems that someone who has a lot of experience battling with WWE has chimed in on the situation.

We previously reported that WWE is blocking arenas from holding AEW events. It is not an outright ban, but they are prohibited from doing so within a certain time frame.

Eric Bischoff knows what it is like to battle with WWE. In fact, when he saw that story break, it brought back old memories. It seems that WWE did the same kind of thing to WCW back in the day.

They (WWE) had the same agreement with different arenas, which effectively blocked WCW. MSG being most notable.

WWE and WCW’s war ended in Vince McMahon’s favor, but the battle between AEW and WWE is ongoing. The jury is also out on which company will secure the United Kingdom market, but AEW’s Wembley Stadium event is certainly a big indication that the company is doing very well in that fan base.

WWE knows how to deal with competition, because they’ve been doing that for a while. We’ll have to see what’s next, but it is certain to draw headlines.
