WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan recently spoke highly of Roman Reigns, recognizing him as the undisputed top figure in the wrestling industry today and expressing his immense respect for him.

During a recent interview with Forbes, where Hogan promoted his new CBD wellness company, he delved into what sets Reigns apart from others in the industry. Hogan, who understands firsthand what it takes to be the top guy in wrestling, explained why Reigns stands out and operates in a league of his own.

Hogan’s association with the Anoa’i family goes back a long way, and he has known Reigns since the latter was a young child. Fondly reminiscing, Hogan shared a personal anecdote about his friendship with Reigns’ father, Sika, one of the renowned Wild Samoans, as well as his partnership with Afa. Following a show at the Cow Palace, Hogan was invited to a barbecue at the Samoan family’s house in San Francisco. To his surprise, the gathering turned out to be a large gathering with 40 or 50 people in attendance, including Reigns’ extended family.

During that time, a memorable photo was taken of Hogan holding a young Reigns, with Sika standing next to them. This photo has since circulated widely. Hogan expressed a soft spot in his heart for Reigns and praised him as one of the few main event performers who is keeping the art form of wrestling alive.

Hogan emphasized Reigns’ ability to improvise and think on his feet. Unlike wrestlers who rely heavily on scripted promos and choreographed sequences, Reigns possesses a natural instinct and improvisational skills. Hogan drew parallels to his own approach during his prime, where he would trust his instincts and rely on his feel for the crowd and the ring.

According to Hogan, Reigns exemplifies this approach. He can adapt in the moment, exhibiting a keen sense of placement, physicality, and ring awareness. Hogan expressed his excitement to see how Reigns continues to develop and succeed in the industry.

“I see that in Roman. He’s got a feel, he’s got an instinct. He is keeping the art form alive. So I’m excited to see where he ends up with this thing.”

Reigns is set to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at Night of Champions this weekend, teaming up with Solo Sikoa against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

What are your thoughts on Hulk Hogan’s praise for Roman Reigns and his comparison to his own wrestling approach during his prime? Do you agree that Reigns stands out as the top figure in the industry today? Leave a comment.
