WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is one of the biggest and most influential names in the pro wrestling business and has accomplished a lot in the industry. Being a big name in WCW, he saw a lot of things others did not. That said, he also believed Vince McMahon was going to show up to legitimately fight Eric Bischoff in WCW.

The infamous Monday Night Wars between WWE and WCW gave birth to innumerable moments, many of which were simply too crazy. Quite a few bizarre ideas came out of Eric Bischoff’s head during this time as well.

One of those moments saw Eric Bischoff call out Vince McMahon for a legitimate fight at Slamboree 1998. To the surprise of no one, Vince McMahon never showed up and beat up Eric Bischoff.

While speaking during a recent episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff revealed that Hulk Hogan legitimately believed Vince McMahon was going to show up and beat up Eric Bischoff.

“Hulk believed up until the last minute that Vince would show up… I’m not sure that’s why [Hulk] agreed to just do a run-in [at Slamboree], but now that I’m sitting here thinking about it… I think that’s the only reason he said yeah.

Hogan was convinced that Vince would just shred me… He thought Vince would kill me. I said… do not interfere unless it looks like it could be permanent, meaning if Vince McMahon is digging out one of my eyes, go ahead and throw a chair.”

Vince McMahon appearing at Slamboree 1998 to beat up Eric Bischoff would have been a major highlight of the Monday Night Wars, but it was not to be. Regardless, WWE won the war in the end and that’s all that matters to them.
