WWE Backlash is going down on May 6th in Puerto Rico, and a lot of eyes will be on that show. The main event match is also very interesting, because a huge title won’t be defended on the card, so it could go to a couple different contests.

Bad Bunny is one of the most popular rappers on the planet, and WWE has him booked for a match at Backlash. He is set to throw down with Damian Priest in a street fight, and that match could end up closing out the big night in Puerto Rico.

Backlash will also feature some marquee names and matches. Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are set to battle with the Bloodline one final time in a six-man tag team match as well. That match isn’t getting near the attention that Bad Bunny’s contest is receiving.

In his little run-down for WWE RAW, WRKD Wrestling tweeted out something very interesting. It was noted that Bad Bunny and Damian Priest are trying to secure the main event spot at Backlash.

Priest will continue to heat up his feud w/ Bad Bunny, as they’re pushing to main event

While it would be fitting to see Bad Bunny headline in Puerto Rico, it would be surprising to see happen. After all, Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes is also on the card. If Brock Lesnar doesn’t main event a show he’s on, then he always opens the card.

Fans in Puerto Rico sold out the Backlash event in quick fashion. Not only were fans super excited to get another big WWE event, but Bad Bunny’s association with the show also garnered huge interest.

We will have continued coverage of Backlash here at Ringside News. This event will also be the final chance to see the old WWE rosters as they were before the 2023 WWE Draft.
