Former WWE Superstar John Morrison recently confirmed in an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour that he has spoken with AEW and is a fan of the roster there. Morrison also mentioned that his wife Taya Valkyrie is currently signed with the company and has been happy there.

During the interview, Morrison expressed his admiration for various AEW wrestlers, including Rey Fenix, Pentagon, Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, Jake Hager, Chris Jericho, Max Caster, and Mark Henry. He noted that he has a lot in common with other pro wrestlers and enjoys being in the locker room with guys like them.

“You know like [Rey] Fenix and Pentagon, I’m really close to. Fenix was a groomsmen at our wedding. Eddie Kingston, yeah like there’s so many guys. I’ve always been a big fan of Mox, [Jake Hager] clearly was at the fight. Jericho, name dropped Jericho in my diss track on Harley, but I got along with him at WWE. Max Caster, grown to like over our mutual love for diss tracks and freestyle rapping, although he’s way better than me. Mark Henry.

“Usually the roster at every wrestling show is pretty damn good. I’m a pro wrestler and I have a lot in common with other pro wrestlers, and I like being in the locker room of guys like that.”

Morrison’s comments have sparked speculation about a possible move to AEW. However, he did not reveal any specific plans for his future in wrestling.

Morrison, who previously performed in WWE under the ring name Johnny Nitro and John Morrison, is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion and Tag Team Champion. He was released from WWE in 2020 after a six-year stint with the company. Since then, he has made appearances in various promotions, including Impact Wrestling and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.

It remains to be seen if Morrison will eventually join AEW, but his comments indicate that he is open to the possibility. Fans will have to stay tuned to see if he makes his way to the company in the future.
