Sheamus is either loved or hated, depending on which WWE fan you ask. He draws out different reactions from fans, but it’s always been that way. It turns out that Sheamus has also experienced that same thing backstage in WWE.

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus started their WWE careers at around the same time. They first teamed up in 2009 during the Survivor Series, where they were part of Team Miz in a 5-on-5 elimination match that ended with their team winning it all. Since then, they have remained strong allies, supporting each other throughout their respective wrestling journeys, but they have also been bitter enemies along the way as well.

At the beginning of Drew McIntyre and Sheamus’ WWE careers, the duo faced some difficulty and were not very popular backstage. Kevin Nash recently went into his experience while sharing the ring with the hard-hitting duo.

Kevin Nash revealed that Sheamus built a reputation for being a stiff worker, which was not very popular in the locker room. Nash returned to WWE in 2011 as part of the Men’s Royal Rumble Match in Boston, Massachusetts. His history with injuries is also legendary, so it’s not a surprise that he didn’t want to get roughed up.

While on Kliq This, Kevin Nash was asked why wrestlers have heat with Sheamus. Nash explained that because he and The Celtic Warrior were close to Triple H, no one would bother to bad mouth him about the Irishman.

“I was pissed off when I came back to Boston when McIntyre and him [Sheamus] f*cking, they were pounding on me, and I was f*cking, the crowd was yelling ‘Diesel! Diesel! Diesel!’ and they were just, it was like a shoot. They were pounding me so f*cking hard. It’s one of the deals like, ‘F*ck man, I’m not gonna get in a fistfight out here.”

Some WWE Superstars aren’t universally loved backstage, and that’s okay. At this stage in his career, Sheamus has certainly earned everyone’s respect. Kevin Nash might not have the best memories of Sheamus in WWE, but he might not mess with him in a fight either.
