Santino Marella established himself as a fan favorite in WWE from the late 2000s to early 2010s, thanks to his memorable comedic character. With his exaggerated Italian accent, iconic unibrow and impeccable comedic timing, Marella quickly won over fans. While he isn’t in WWE anymore, it appears that Marella wants to appear during the Royal Rumble match but only as himself and not his alter-ego Santina.

Santino Marella has been absent from WWE ever since he left the company back in 2014. That said, he did make an appearance in the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble match as Santina Marella.

While appearing on the latest episode of the Ignorance Is Strength podcast, the former WWE Superstar was asked whether he has any intention of making an appearance in a Royal Rumble match somewhere down the line.

The Milan Miracle stated that he would be down to appear in a Royal Rumble match. That said, Santino Marella added that he wants to return as himself and not as Santina next time.

“I would like…especially because a couple of years ago, I came back as Santina in 2020. I would like to actually comeback as Santino. I think people would really appreciate that.”

Santino Marella is currently part of Impact Wrestling and even recently competed in a match. Knowing WWE’s previous track record with using ex-WWE stars who work in Impact Wrestling, perhaps fans might get to see Marella in the Royal Rumble match soon enough.

What’s your take on what Santino Marella said? Do you want to see him return in WWE? Sound off in the comments!
