WWE was making plans to travel back to Saudi Arabia for another event in May, and then they changed the name of the show around. There are a lot of options that they could go with, but WWE switched things around to Night of Champions. There is apparently a very good reason for that change.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the reason for WWE’s decision to change up the upcoming Saudi Arabian event will become very clear in time. This note might seem a bit cryptic, but it is also incredibly interesting as well.

Regarding the reason the 5/27 show in Saudi Arabia was changed from King & Queen of the Ring to Night of Champions was a booking decision. We were told it will become obvious why after the Puerto Rico show and in the build to the show

Although we don’t know why WWE changed around the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring change to Night of Champions, that logic will apparently become very clear in time. We also do not have any matches booked for the next Saudi Arabian show.

It is always possible that WWE intends to split up their title belts at Night of Champions. After all, the Tag Team Titles and Undisputed WWE Universal Titles are combined belts, giving their holder a lot of weight to lug around.

We’ll have to see what the future holds for WWE. Obviously, this is a new story that is still being unpacked. Hopefully, things will be very clear to us soon enough.
