WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff is a true veteran of professional wrestling and is well aware of how the industry has changed over the past couple of decades. Being a veteran, most fans take his opinion seriously, especially when it comes to AEW. Bischoff has largely been critical of AEW for a while now and it appears he blasted AEW for losing the goodwill of fans recently.

Last year, the WWE Hall Of Famer even called AEW a ‘vanity project.’ In fact, Easy E even repeatedly criticized AEW for having poorly crafted storylines and having matches for the sake of it.

AEW is no longer the hot commodity that it once was, which has to do with the fact that the company simply had too many backstage issues plaguing them. The brawl at AEW All Out and numerous incidents after that did the promotion no favors.

While speaking to Riju Dasgupta, Eric Bischoff stated that he believes AEW has lost ground. He then blasted AEW for losing the goodwill of fans due to their childish storylines.

“I think AEW has lost ground. They have lost a lot of goodwill with their audience. I think the audience is getting tired of the lack of creative in AEW. Their storylines are horrible, if they even exist. What passes for a storyline in AEW might pass for a storyline amongst a bunch of 8 year olds or 10 year olds. But in terms of a legitimate compelling story that progresses and builds and evolves in a compelling way that people keep coming back and the audience keeps growing, it’s non-existent in AEW. It’s a mess.”

Eric Bischoff also stated that AEW isn’t even fraction of what WCW was. Eric Bischoff also believes NXT will outperform AEW in ratings eventually. We’ll have to wait and see whether AEW will eventually improve its storylines.

What’s your take on what Eric Bischoff said? Do you think AEW has lost the goodwill of fans? Sound off in the comments!
