Paul Heyman has a long, illustrious, history of managing champions in WWE. Before Heyman was Roman Reigns’ Wise Man, he had clients who considered themselves ‘Paul Heyman Guys,’ and Saraya wanted to be included in that.

Saraya let her WWE contract expire and she took off. It didn’t take her long to end up in AEW, but stories about what could have been in WWE are still fascinating to hear.

While speaking to the Wrestling Crossover, Saraya revealed that she once approached Paul Heyman about becoming one of his clients. She wanted to become a Paul Heyman Girl, and while it didn’t happen, that gesture meant a lot to the former leader of ECW.

“I wanted to be a ‘Paul Heyman girl’ so bad. Everyone wanted to be a ‘Paul Heyman girl,’ and I even said to him that I wanted to be a ‘Paul Heyman girl.’ I was in his book — he put me in his book, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I love you.'”

WWE never paired Paige up with Paul Heyman on screen, but he was apparently available backstage for advice. Saraya obviously respects Paul Heyman a great deal, and they might have been a fantastic team on television. That being said, things just didn’t work out for them as a team in WWE.

Paul Heyman is doing just fine in WWE as Wise Man in the Bloodline. Odds are, they have a lot more ground to cover with that story. Also, Saraya is having a great time in AEW under Tony Khan’s booking as she leads a stable of heels in Ruby Soho and Toni Storm.

Who would you like to see as the next Paul Heyman guy, or Paul Heyman girl? Do you think WWE missed a great opportunity with Saraya and Paul Heyman? Sound off in the comments!
