WWE saw a lot of releases in the name of budget cuts throughout the pandemic. A number of those names have already returned, thanks to Triple H. It turns out that one talent was brought back last year who wasn’t used.

Ringside News exclusively reported this morning that WWE signed a few talent last year who haven’t even debuted yet. Now we know one of those names.

Eric Young was one of those name who received a phone call from WWE that they never wanted, as he was released during the pandemic. Fans shouldn’t feel bad for EY, because he’s actually already back in WWE.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE re-hired Eric Young in November 2022. He has yet to make a return to television at this time.

Young was recruited back in an wrestling capacity in 2022 by Triple H’s new regime just a few months after taking over. We’re told that by October, IMPACT Wrestling was made aware that Eric Young would be finishing up with the company.

It was also noted that Eric Young “has been under WWE contract since as far back as November 1, but hasn’t appeared at all on screen, and we have yet to hear of him being backstage at all.” He appeared for IMPACT Wrestling until December 1st, where he was kayfabe murdered by Cody Deaner.

Many fans believed that Eric Young would be a part of Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House. After all, many pegged him as the announcer voice during that strange segment Wyatt targeted at Bobby Lashley. Of course, Wyatt left television, and he hasn’t been cleared for a return, and Eric Young never appeared.
