Becky Lynch recently aligned herself with WWE Hall of Famer Lita to take the fight to Damage CTRL (Bayley, Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai), who have been pounding on The Man for the last couple of months. Lita helped The Man defeat Bayley in a cage match on a recent episode of Monday Night RAW. The decorated veteran has declared that she will help Lynch again if the situation calls for it.
Taking to Instagram, Becky Lynch heaped praise on Lita for being a trailblazer in the wrestling business. Naturally, The Man had a lot to say about Lita.
“I remember being mesmerized the first time I saw @machetegirl on tv. She was cool, she was spunky and she was different . As a young woman she showed me that you could break the mold to succeed. You didn’t need to be cookie cutter. It was better if you weren’t.”
“As a performer I’ve been able to take what she’s done and build upon it so we can keep changing the game.I could not be more proud to fight side by side on Monday. We’ve done a lot of very great things individually- but taking those tag titles and walking into WrestleMania as champions together, well, that will be pretty damn epic.”
Becky Lynch and Lita are set to challenge IYO SKY and Dakota Kai on the upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW. The booking was one fans never saw coming, but as always fans are always subject to change in WWE, especially on The Road To WrestleMania.
Lita made her WWE debut in February 2000 and quickly became one of the most popular female wrestlers of her era. She was famous for her high-flying and daredevil wrestling style, as well as her distinctive punk-rock look. Lita was involved in numerous high-profile storylines, including a feud with Trish Stratus and a romantic storyline with Matt Hardy and Edge.
The current storyline in WWE indicates that Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler would potentially challenge IYO SKY and Dakota Kai for the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 39. However, things are likely to change on the upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW with Becky Lynch and Lita challenging for the titles.
A title change could possibly be on the cards ahead of WrestleMania 39, as according to fan speculations, Becky Lynch and Lita are much bigger stars than SKY and Kai, and therefore the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship could potentially change hands on Monday night. This would lead to Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler squaring off with Lynch and Lita in a blockbuster title showdown at WrestleMania 39.
