Cody Rhodes’ return to WWE during WrestleMania 38 marked the start of an epic journey that will reach its climax at this year’s WrestleMania. Rhodes quickly established himself as one of the top fan favorites, displaying his incredible skills and unwavering determination. That being said, it seems WWE had different plans for Rhodes and Paul Heyman’s promo segment on RAW this week.

Sami Zayn’s tale with “The Bloodline” has been unfolding for several months, and it has become a standout among the many storylines in WWE. With its intricate plot twists and turns, the story has captured the attention of fans everywhere. The pinnacle of this story occurred at The Royal Rumble, where Zayn executed a stunning act of treachery against Roman Reigns in a segment that will go down in history as one of the most memorable in recent WWE history.

This week’s episode of Monday Night RAW showcased a riveting exchange between Cody Rhodes and Paul Heyman, marked by their heated verbal exchanges. In the end, Heyman dropped a nuclear bomb on Rhodes, shocking everyone involved.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was revealed that the original plans for the promo segment was not going to feature Paul Heyman at all.

“Heyman was originally not booked to appear on the show. He was always going to be in Orlando because Brock Lesnar was booked on the show, and Heyman is a key part of all creative when it comes to Roman Reigns, Lesnar and Ronda Rousey.

That changed during last week. The concept of what was planned late last week and what ended up happening was completely different.

The final product was largely put together by Heyman and Rhodes in the direction both wanted to take it.The very much behind-the-scenes key was to make this into the ultimate top match of the year, since that is what the world title match at WrestleMania is.”

The segment was also criticized for taking the heat off Sami Zayn. Rhodes will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39. We’ll have to see if Cody will be able to defeat the Tribal Chief and bring an end to his reign of dominance.
