On Night One of WrestleMania 38, WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin wrestled his first match in over 19 years as he defeated Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred contest to close out the show. On Night Two of WrestleMania 38, Austin nailed Austin Theory with a stunner after Mr. McMahon had defeated Pat McAfee in an impromptu match. He then started drinking beer with McMahon before hitting him with a stunner as well. AEW commentator Jim Ross recently gave his thoughts on reports about his long-time friend Stone Cold Steve Austin ahead of WrestleMania 39, because rumor is the Texas Rattlesnake could have a repeat performance.

Last month, Stone Cold Steve Austin was rumored to be a possible opponent for Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns in the light of Dwayne Johnson’s absence at The Showcase Of Immortals this year. However, neither match is on the cards as of yet.

On his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross speculated that there is still a chance for Austin to be booked for WrestleMania 39 in Inglewood, California.

“I think there’s still time for Steve to do something at WrestleMania because the role he would be in would not be in a match.”

Jim Ross further noted that Austin doesn’t need to compete again. A non-wrestling role would be the best bet for The Texas Rattlesnake at WrestleMania 39.

“I don’t think so. I’d say no, and if he asked me I’d say no. What do you got to gain? He had that Kevin Owens thing last year at WrestleMania, which I thought was excellent. Looked good. He wrestled Steve’s match and he did what he could do.”

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin is one of the most popular and influential wrestlers of all time. He was instrumental in the success of the Attitude Era in the late 1990s, when WWE focused on more adult-oriented and edgy content. Austin was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.

Since retiring from wrestling, Stone Cold Steve Austin has made appearances in movies and television shows, including The Longest Yard and Luck, and hosts his own podcast, The Steve Austin Show. It remains to be seen whether The Texas Rattlesnake will light up the WWE ring at the SoFi Stadium come April.
