Vince McMahon has been at the center of a scandal in the past year involving allegations of payoffs to keep accusations quiet. He is back in the thick of things now, and fans have been fearing the worst. That being said, it seems McMahon is not involved in NXT’s Creative department.
Vince McMahon’s reentry onto the Board of Directors was seen as a hostile takeover, as he showed a heightened resolve to retake control of WWE. Despite facing significant opposition, McMahon was appointed Executive Chairman of WWE following Stephanie McMahon’s resignation. He now holds this role, with Nick Khan remaining the CEO.
That being said, Vince McMahon has not taken charge of WWE Creative after assuming control of the company. Triple H remains the Creative head of the company for the time being.
While speaking during the NXT Vengeance Day media call, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels revealed that Vince McMahon is not involved in NXT’s Creative department.
I don’t think so, I’d imagine Vince has got bigger fish to fry than us down here in NXT. I’ll say this one of the things that I enjoy about my job down here is the plausible deniability that I’m allowed to have. So I don’t ask a lot of questions since I don’t know the answers to some of them. I’ll say, even back when, again when we were here, he was very good with us down here. They helped us in a certain way and guided us in how they wanted to go and after that, it was hands-off.
And Hunter is the same thing. They’re very good with us down here in NXT, they understand it’s a different environment down here. We’re very fortunate to kinda be independent no matter whos running the ship up there in Stamford, they allow us a great deal of freedom down here, which we appreciate.
NXT continues to do its own thing, and Shawn Michaels wants to keep it that way for as long as possible. We’ll have to see what else NXT has in store for fans.
