We are just a few hours away from the 2023 Royal Rumble. This Premium Live Event is one of the most exciting nights of the year as it is filled with plenty of surprises and unpredictable moments. The Royal Rumble also kickstarts the Road to WrestleMania and this is where WWE starts to build out its WrestleMania storylines. Given that it’s WrestleMania season, there have been rumors doing the rounds that The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin are set to return at the Royal Rumble tonight.
However, Fightful has asked around and the talent they spoke to informed them that they haven’t been told anything but they mentioned that it’s “well known that WWE wants them.”
One talent noted that the money increase between the pitches to Steve Austin for Brock Lesnar in the fall and Roman Reigns in January were significant, making it obvious that WWE “wanted him for something.”
On the other hand, several sources close to the situation swear that The Rock is going to be showing up. If he shows up, this will be his first Royal Rumble appearance since 2015.
Stone Cold hasn’t wrestled in the Royal Rumble match since 2002. However, Austin returned to the ring after 19 years last year at WrestleMania. Therefore, he should be ready to go if chooses to get back in the ring. Stay tuned to Ringside News for live coverage of the Royal Rumble.
