Matt Cardona is best known for his time in WWE, where he performed under the ring name Zack Ryder from 2005 to 2020. Cardona made his professional wrestling debut in 2004, teaming with Curt Hawkins on the independent circuit. In 2011, Cardona launched a YouTube web series in which he proclaimed himself WWE’s “Internet Champion.” This, along with his heavy use of social media, allowed Cardona to establish a substantial cult following in the industry. Today, Cardona is a popular name in the business and has improved significantly over the years. It seems that his business mind is still working overtime, because he just locked down another interesting trademark from his old WWE days.

In 2020, Matt Cardona was released by WWE as part of the budget cuts stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, Cardona has appeared for AEW, Impact Wrestling, GCW, and NWA. Cardona is currently signed to a full-time deal with Impact Wrestling.

On January 19th, Matt Cardona filed for trademarks on “WOO WOO WOO. YOU KNOW IT” for merchandise, toys, and entertainment purposes. The catchphrase is associated with the Zack Ryder gimmick. Here are the descriptions:

Bandanas; Hats; Shirts; Headbands; Headbands against sweating; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts.

Matt Cardona applied for the trademarks with the help of “Gimmick Attorney” Michael E. Docking. The fact that Cardona is attempting to secure his old WWE gimmick-related trademarks could be a legitimate hint at his potential return to Vince McMahon’s company.

Matt Cardona is currently signed to a full-time deal with Impact Wrestling. He is set to appear at GCW’s upcoming “Middle Of The Night” event on February 18th. He also registered a trademark for “Zack Ryder,” his old WWE name, last week.

Cardona has been heavily rumored to be WWE-bound considering the fact that his wife, Chelsea Green, is expected to return to the company any time now. It remains to be seen if Cardona makes his WWE return this Saturday at the Royal Rumble.
