Jay Briscoe lost his life in an automobile accident on Tuesday night, and the pro wrestling world is mourning this tragedy. His daughters were also involved in the crash, and they are also dealing with the aftermath in their own lives. Now those who were close to Jay Briscoe are left to pick up the pieces, and his mother is one of those people who will miss him greatly.
Jay Briscoe’s mother, Jana Pugh, spoke to NBC’s “WRDE Coast TV” about her son’s passing. She made it clear how much of a provider Jay Briscoe was for his family and so many others around him.
“He took care of people. He really wanted people to be kind to each other. It was very important to him.”
“If Jamin could see the people that are reaching out and praying because of what’s happened to him, he’d feel like, you know, ‘I did reach some people.'”
Jay Briscoe’s neighbor, Karen Tucker added, “I’ll miss him terribly. He was almost like a son. Adopted son.”
The pro wrestling world really lost one of the good ones when Jay Briscoe passed away. Police released a statement on the wreck, one that was not his fault, as another car went left to center and struck his automobile.
On January 17, 2023, at approximately 5:09 p.m., a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was traveling westbound on Laurel Road just west of Goose Nest Road. At the same time, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 was traveling eastbound on Laurel Road in the same vicinity. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Silverado 1500 pickup truck failed to remain in her lane, crossed the center line, and entered the eastbound lane of Laurel Road, directly into the path of the Silverado 2500. This resulted in a head-on collision between the two pickup trucks in the eastbound lane.
Our thoughts are with the entire Pugh family during this incredibly sad time.
