Jay Briscoe’s mother, Jana Pugh, spoke to NBC’s “WRDE Coast TV” about her son’s passing. She made it clear how much of a provider Jay Briscoe was for his family and so many others around him.

“If Jamin could see the people that are reaching out and praying because of what’s happened to him, he’d feel like, you know, ‘I did reach some people.'”

Jay Briscoe’s neighbor, Karen Tucker added, “I’ll miss him terribly. He was almost like a son. Adopted son.”

The pro wrestling world really lost one of the good ones when Jay Briscoe passed away. Police released statement on the wreck, one that was not his fault, as another car went left to center and struck his automobile.

On January 17, 2023, at approximately 5:09 p.m., a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was traveling westbound on Laurel Road just west of Goose Nest Road. At the same time, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 was traveling eastbound on Laurel Road in the same vicinity. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Silverado 1500 pickup truck failed to remain in her lane, crossed the center line, and entered the eastbound lane of Laurel Road, directly into the path of the Silverado 2500. This resulted in a head-on collision between the two pickup trucks in the eastbound lane.

AEW’s attempt to hold a Jay Briscoe memorial show on Dynamite was blocked by WarnerMedia. They still taped tribute show, and you can check out those spoilers here.
