The longest-running weekly episodic show in television history, Monday Night RAW, is turning 30 next week. A special edition, titled ‘RAW XXX’ has been planned on the show’s special occasion, with a line-up of WWE Legends, Hall of Famers, and top stars planned for the show. That being said, one legend won’t be there.
The illustrious list of WWE Legends of the past set to appear for the show includes Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, The Bella Twins, Road Dogg, and more. However, another popular star of the past, Tatanka, who was invited for RAW XXX, won’t be a part of the festivities.
The 61-year-old legend was invited to be a part of RAW’s 30th anniversary. However, Tatanka recently revealed on his Facebook post that he would not be a part of the show as he will be attending his son’s event who will attempt to win the state wrestling championship.
“Even though WWE contacted me 5 weeks ago, I will not be attending the 30th Anniversary Show…instead, as noted, my Son’s Wrestling Team won the Regional Championship & we’re heading out of town to the State Championship! No better place I would rather be! #Father #Son Support”
Tatanka was a highly popular WWE superstar back in the 1990s. He carved out a two-year-long televised undefeated streak from 1991 to 1993. Tatanka was also part of the Ruthless Aggression era as well, wrestling a few matches from 2005 to 2006.
Tatanka continued to wrestle on the independent circuit for various promotions for a long time. Moreover, he would appear for various WWE special shows alongside other Legends, while even being a part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32.
Although Tatanka would be absent from the show, RAW XXX will still feature in the top line-up of superstars of the past and present. RAW’s 30th anniversary is set to take place on January 23rd in Philadelphia, PA, which is the go-home edition of the 2023 Royal Rumble event.
