The Royal Rumble match is considered one of the golden opportunities for WWE Superstars to ascend to the main event scene. Winning the 30-man over-the-top-rope melee has changed the lives of many superstars, such as Roman Reigns and Stone Cold Steve Austin. It looks like NXT prospect Grayson Waller is looking to follow in their footsteps to win the Rumble match.
Grayson Waller has become one of the most exciting NXT superstars in recent memory. Waller recently spoke about getting chance to enter the Royal Rumble match as a surprise entrant. He talked about this during an interview with Steve Fall on The Ten Count.
Grayson Waller even joked about the host Steve Fall trying to get him into trouble with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
“You’re trying to get me in trouble with Roman right now. I can feel it. I know what you’re doing, but that’s okay. Because if I get the opportunity in the Royal Rumble, I have confidence. I know I could go on and win that thing,” said Waller. “Roman is the toughest challenge in the industry right now. No one can beat him, but I do have experience beating a Bloodline member. Not many people can say that. I beat Solo Sikoa, and I beat him pretty easily.”
Grayson Waller further continued that he might be needing a lot of backups to combat all the members of The Bloodline, surrounding Roman Reigns.
“So, if I get in there with Roman, and I have time, and I can come up with a strategy, and I can get some backup; because that guy’s got like 16 cousins, 7 uncles, like the ring is just covered in Bloodline members, but who knows? Imagine me doing a shoey with three championships in my hand? That’s pretty impressive.”
Grayson Waller is set to battle Bron Breakker at New Year’s Evil for the NXT Title on January 10th, with this being his first-ever one-on-one title opportunity. Only time will tell if he shows up at the Royal Rumble on January 28th.
