Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have established themselves as one of the greatest tag teams in the last decade. Their time in professional wrestling has been nothing short of legendary. They went through war at ROH Final Battle, where Harwood suffered the most physically. This includes an instance where the referee was busted open. In fact, FTR even paid the referee.

At ROH Final Battle, FTR put their ROH World Tag Team Championships on the line against The Briscoes, in the third match of their trilogy. It was truly a blood war from bell to bell, as fans were at the edge of their seats throughout the match.

In the end, The Briscoes won the match after Dax Harwood passed out. While speaking on his FTR podcast with Matt Koon, Dax Harwood gave huge props to referee Mike Posey for his involvement in the match. Harwood revealed that FTR ended up compensating Mike Posey for the spot.

“I have thanked Posey so many times for that moment because it made our match. The one little moment took it from a great match to an unforgettable match. He was fucking ready to go with that. I asked him, ‘I have this idea, if you don’t feel comfortable, I don’t blame you. If you don’t want to do it, I totally understand. Here’s my idea.’ I told him, and he said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it.’ ‘Have you ever bled before?’ ‘No, not really, but I’m down to do it.

I don’t think he would mind if I told you this, because he tried to talk us out of it, but me and Cash, because it meant so much to the match and our legacy and the legacy of that trilogy, that he did that for us and he trusted us to do that and he wanted to be a part of it. Me and Cash wanted to compensate him for that. We made sure that money was taken out of our checks and sent to him and his family before Christmas. I could never thank him enough for what he did for that match, our trilogy, and me and Cash’s career. I hope he knows that the money means nothing, but the love I have for him and what he did is way more than that.”

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have lost every single tag team title they had won last year, with them losing the IWGP Tag Team Championships during Wrestle Kingdom 17. We will have to wait and see whether FTR will leave AEW for WWE this year.
