Goldberg’s contributions to the pro wrestling world cannot be forgotten. While he is a divisive figure now, Goldberg was universally beloved back in the 90s. Goldberg also has a history with Brock Lesnar, who is arguably his greatest foe in WWE. In fact, his match with Lesnar at WrestleMania 20 ended up being a huge payday for both of them.

After 12 years away from the ring, Goldberg returned at WWE Survivor Series 2016 to face off against Brock Lesnar. Prior to that, Goldberg’s last match was against Lesnar at WrestleMania 20, which was hated by many fans.

Fans hated it because they knew Goldberg and Lesnar were leaving the company after WrestleMania 20. Not even Steve Austin as the guest referee could save the match. While speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross revealed that both men earned $250,000 for the match.

“I don’t know how long they worked, how long is this match? [JR is told it’s 13 minutes long] For 13 minutes of work they made 250,000 a piece. Quarter million dollars for 13 minutes work, but I don’t know it’s just funny how that stuff works out. It told me it wasn’t about the money, even though that’s the story that’s going around.”

We will have to wait and see whether Goldberg will return to WWE and have one last match with Brock Lesnar. For the time being, that does not seem very likely. Regardless, fans will wait for Goldberg’s WWE return.
