The Rock’s latest movie, Black Adam, hit theaters in October of this year. The movie was received favorably amongst the DC fan base. In fact, many fans believed that Black Adam was one of the most successful DC movies to hit cinemas recently.

A couple of weeks ago, The Rock, who played Black Adam in the movie, shared some interesting statistics regarding the movie’s success at the box office which reflected public opinion. According to The Rock, Black Adam had profited between $52 million to $72 million, and had made $400 million worldwide.

“Waited to confirm with financiers before I shared this excellent #BlackAdam news – our film will PROFIT between $52M-$72M. Fact. At almost $400M worldwide we are building our new franchise step by step (first Captain America did $370M) for the DC future,” The Rock said at that time.

According to Matt Belloni in a Puck Newsletter, “several Warner executives” believe that The Rock leaked the story to Deadline, and they also believe those numbers are based on false assumptions. Belloni even called it one of the “silliest trade stories of all time” while also casting doubt on Black Adam’s likelihood to hit the numbers that The Rock Claimed.
