A surprise addition to the upcoming WWE NXT Deadline premium live event came up this week when The New Day interrupted Pretty Deadly’s Christmas Story to set up title match for the NXT Tag Team Championship. While the crowd erupted after the announcement, it seems not everyone is on board with The New Day making it’s way to the black and gold brand.

Booker T has already expressed the sentiment that The New Day is getting involved in some business that doesn’t concern them on NXT TV. He further went on about his disapproval of The New Day switching over to WWE NXT on his “Hall of Fame podcast

“I don’t like it, I don’t like it at all. I mean, these guys are camera hogs. They can’t get no love on the main roster. So, they gotta come over to ‘NXT’ and try to, there again, steal some camera time. It’s just one of those things, man. I don’t like seeing bullies pick on people, and that’s what The New Day has become as of late. They’ve become bullies coming over to ‘NXT.’ So, that’s what I would label them as, bullies.”

When asked whether he thinks The New Day should be the favorite over Pretty Deadly, Booker T wholeheartedly agreed. He cited their previous achievements and status among the crowd as reasons.

“Yeah, I mean they should be,multi-time tag team champions, the most decorated tag team champions in WWE. So, yeah, come on, man. They should be the favorite. The New Day has never held tag team gold on the “NXT” brand. Pretty Deadly is in its second reign with the “NXT” Tag Team Championship. Their current run has surpassed the three-month mark.”

Winning the NXT Tag Team Championship will increase the list of accolades for the New Day. However, if Pretty Deadly manages to defend it’s title against The New Day, it will help establish them as superstars who can hold their own against guys from the main roster.
