Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has already established himself as a true icon in pro wrestling and his influence over the industry remains unchallenged even now. The Rock is arguably an even bigger star in Hollywood. However, The Rock didn’t always have the great deal of success that he did now. In fact, he even stole car keys from a wrestler for a bizarre reason.

Pro wrestling veteran Harvey Wippleman and The Rock went a long way back, as The Rock was sent to live with Wippleman when he was just 14. The two clearly share a very close bond.

While speaking on One on One, Harvey Wippleman recalled Rocky Johnson coming over to stay with him and The Rock one night. He then revealed how The Rock stole a wrestler named Bob Owens’ car keys to go out for drinks.

“So, one night Rocky Johnson came over to my place since he was in Nashville for whatever reasons. Instead of staying where he was staying, he wanted to stay with me and Dewey [The Rock] that night. So, I said, ‘Okay, we are all ready to go drinking outside,’ and he was like, ‘You are definitely going. What do you mean you’re going out drinking? You’re going to stay right here,’ and he says, ‘I’m gonna take away your keys to make sure.

So what happened was Bob Owens, another old-time wrestler. He sadly passed away. He came over that night to visit. Rocky and him got drunk, and they both went to sleep. So Dewey stole Bob Owens’ keys, and we drove downtown anyway. We returned at four o’clock in the morning, and there was Bob Owens and Rocky sitting on the little balcony in front of the hotel [sic]. I was like, ‘We are in deep trouble now!'”

The Rock also recently repaid a 7-11 that he stole from every day for years. In terms of Dwayne Johnson’s future in the ring, Ringside News exclusively reported that The Rock is virtual lock for WrestleMania 39. So, we’ll have to see when WWE will start booking The Rock’s feud with Roman Reigns next year.
