Chris Jericho’s WWE Exit ‘Shocked’ Vince McMahon

Chris Jericho is truly a veteran in the pro wrestling industry, whose career has spanned more than 30 years. He spent the majority of those years in WWE, where Jericho became a household name. He had a solid relationship with Vince McMahon, but it seems even his WWE departure ended up shocking McMahon.

Jericho eventually debuted in AEW three years ago and became the first AEW World Champion, carrying the company through its initial year. Jericho joining AEW was seen as a very big deal in the pro wrestling world, and many fans wondered how Vince McMahon reacted to it.

While speaking on Oh You Didn’t Know, WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg talked about Jericho and McMahon’s relationship. Road Dogg confirmed that Jericho leaving WWE ended up shocking McMahon, but not as much as others believe.

“It was what it was. It shocked the wrestling world more than it shocked Vince McMahon. I can tell you that for 100%.”

Vince McMahon also wanted Chris Jericho to get out of his AEW contract. Jericho is currently the ROH World Champion and is more than happy with his current role in AEW, and that’s all that matters to him.
