Tonight’s SmackDown will feature a tag team championship match as The Usos defend against The New Day. The Usos are in the middle of their historic tag team championship reign that began last year, if they retain their titles tonight they will officially become the longest reigning tag team champions in WWE history, beating the record set by The New Day themselves in 2016.

It should be interesting to see how things play out on tonight’s show.

The Usos vs The New Day

Our opening tag team championship match begins with Jey Uso and Woods in the ring. The two lock up and Jey then hits a shoulder tackle. Woods hits a side headlock take down and then a shoulder tackle of his own. Kingston tags in and hits a flying cross body. Jimmy tags in and Kingston hits with a flying elbow. Kingston stomps Jimmy in the corner and Woods tags in. Jey runs in and both Usos get thrown outside of the ring and Woods then takes them both out with a dive to the outside.

*Commercial break*

Back live with Jey throwing Kingston to the outside. Jimmy holds Kingston up and Jey hits a tope suicida. Jey Irish whips Kingston to the barricade The crowd begins to chant for Sami Zayn as Jey Uso looks upset at this. Kingston hits a missile drop kick and crawls to the corner and goes for the tag but Jimmy Uso pulls Woods off the apron to prevent the tag.

*Commercial break*

The match continues live with Jey having Kingston in a head lock down on the amt. Kingston powers to his feet and hits a drop kick. Woods and Jimmy both tag in and Woods hits a lariat. Kingston tags in and hits a standing splash and Woods follows with a top rope leg drop, Kingston then covers for a two count. Jimmy dodges the trouble in paradise and Jey tags in. Kingston hits the SOS and makes the cover for two. Jey hits an enziguri and Woods makes the blind tag and hits with a headbutt. Jey hits a super kick and tags Jimmy in and The Usos hit a double super kick. Jey then tags in and The Usos climb to opposite corners and hit a double splash and Jey covers for a two count as the crowd explodes at the kick out. Jimmy tags in and Woods hits with a forearm. The New Day hit the midnight hour to Jey Uso outside the ring. Back in the ring Woods hits a DDT and Kingston tags in and goes up top, they hit the midnight hour and cover but Jey runs in to break the count at two. All four men stand in the ring as the crowd shows their appreciation. A brawl breaks out and Jey and Woods go to the outside. Kingston hits Jimmy with a kick but Jey makes the blind tag and The Usos go for a double superplex but Kingston breaks free and goes for a splash but is caught in mid air and hit with a 1D, Jey then covers for the three count.

Winners: The Usos

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Santos Escobar

The first match in the SmackDown World Cup begins with Escobar hitting a drop kick. Nakamura hits a knee to the face and Nakamura hits a knee drop to Escobar on the apron.

Back live with Escobar grabbing Nakamura’s leg only to be hit with an enziguri. Nakamura hits a kick to the head and then a sliding German suplex. Escobar hits a drop kick to the knee. Nakamura hits a flying knee from off the middle rope and covers for a two count. Nakamura goes to the top rope and Escobar runs up to meet him with a kick to the head. Escobar hits the phantom driver off the top rope and Escobar covers for three.

Winner: Santos Escobar

Liv Morgan vs Shotzi vs Sonya Deville vs Xia Li vs Raquel Rodriguez vs Lacey Evans

The match begins with various brawls breaking out and spilling outside the ring. Evans hits Shotzi with the woman’s right and covers but Deville breaks the cover at two. Morgan grabs Deville and throws her into the stairs. Morgan then throws Li to the barricade and Morgan places the stairs near the announce table. Li heads to the top rope but Rodriguez hits with a right hand. Rodriguez hits Li with a superplex and Deville covers Li for a two count.

Back live with Li hitting Evans with a snap suplex. Morgan hits a missile drop kick and follows with a running corner splash to Evans, and then one to Li, and then Morgan hits two more splashes to both Evans and Li. Rodriguez runs in and Morgan counters a slam with a DDT. Deville hits a kick to the head of Morgan and Shozti hits a swinging neck breaker. Rodriguez plants Li with a powerbomb and covers but Deville drags her out of the ring and tries a cover of her own and Raquel then pulls Deville out of the ring and Rodriguez grabs and sets up a table outside. Rodriguez climbs the stairs and Morgan flies in from the barricade to hit a cross body that unfortunately does not result in Rodriguez going through the table in an ambitious spot. Shotzi plants Evans with a DDT in the ring and makes the cover for three.

Winner: Shotzi

Braun Strowman vs Jinder Mahal

Mahal attacks Strowman before the bell rings ti get the early advantage. Mahal hits a drop kick and then a running knee, Mahal covers for a one count. Mahal runs towards Strowman who plants Mahal with a power slam. Strowman hits a running shoulder tackle outside the ring and back in the ring Strowman hits a running splash to the corner and then Strowman hits a power bomb and covers for three.

Winner: Braun Strowman

Zelina Vega vs B-Fab

As Hit Row are making their entrance for the match, they are interupted by The Viking Raiders’ music playing. A mysterious woman appears at the top of the ramp and off this distraction Erik and Ivar run in from behind and take out Hit Row. Ivar hits a top rope splash to Ashante and then they power bomb Top Dolla. The woman from earlier grabs B-Fab in the ring where Michael Cole finally acknowledges that it is a returning Sarah Logan, obviously, Logan plants B-Fab with a power bomb as the match does not end up taking place.

Roman Reigns and the rest of the Bloodline make their way out to the ring for Roman Reigns’ “special moment” for the closing segment to SmackDown this week.

Back live witht eh crowd acknowledging Roman Reigns. Heyman calls Indianapolis a “hell hole” and when the crowd boos him Heyman says the crowd is not being very Ucey. Heyman says The Usos vs The New Day is not a great rivalry, as The New Day or any team cannot even compare to The Usos. Reigns says their entire lives, everyone has always acknowledged him for his greatness, before Reigns can praise his cousins, he is interrupted by The Brawling Brutes coming out. Holland says they have brought back up this week, and out comes a returning Sheamus. Sheamus says that tonight is the start of the end of the Bloodline. The Brawling Brutes run into the ring as fight the Bloodline who eventually gain the upper hand before Drew McIntyre runs out to even the odds. Solo Sikoa steps up and McIntyre and Sikoa fight it out before Reigns hits a big boot to McIntyre. Sheamus runs in to go after Reigns as SmackDown goes off the air with the brawl still going on.
