WWE continues to incorporate elements from the old NXT into the new version of the developmental brand. Last year, WWE made changes to the production and look of NXT. They are also replacing smaller and older wrestlers with taller and younger athletes.

This was part of the NXT 2.0 rebranding after years of WWE scouting independent wrestlers. On the October 4th edition of NXT, the company showed off a new stage and returned to the black and gold colors that fans are used to seeing with the brand.

Although there is still a lot of character development going on, the emphasis has shifted to in-ring action rather than promo segments, like in NXT 2.0. Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline reported via his Twitter Super Follows that WWE is once again scouting independent talent. Also, WWE’s Gabe Sapolsky attended the DEFY event this past weekend.

As previously reported, WWE released five NXT stars, including Bodhi Hayward, on Tuesday. Let’s see what happens. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Ringside News
