Bodhi Hayward, the first ever-recipient of a scholarship to the Chase University, was set to make waves across NXT 2.0 and NXT Level Up under the tutelage of Andre Chase. This is why the abrupt release of Hayward from WWE came as surprise. It seems that there is more to this story.

Bodhi Hayward was in the middle of a storyline with tag team partner Andre Chase, making no sense to get rid of him out of the blue. According to Bryan Alvarez from Wrestling Observer Live, there is more to the story concerning Hayward’s release.

“All I will say, because I don’t know all of the details, but there was stuff going on. I guess the easiest way to describe it is apparently Bodhi was a handful. So it wasn’t just ‘well, let’s get rid of this guy’ or whatever. But I did hear from multiple people that it wasn’t just ‘we’re gonna cut some folks, we’re gonna cut this person who was right in the middle of a storyline.’ There was more to Bodhi’s story. That’s really all I can say because I don’t know what the more is. But you know, you got a bunch of guys and whatever and they’re in Florida and there’s a loop and god only knows what can happen.”

Alvarez believed the reasons for the other WWE NXT releases were that they weren’t getting any better. Additionally, he mentioned that he had heard that there had been six releases yesterday, so it’s quite possible that one name still hasn’t been released.

Other talents released besides Hayward include Sloane Jacobs, Erica Yan, Damaris Griffin and Ru Feng. There is currently no news about the name of the sixth released talent, but we will keep you updated once a name has been confirmed right here at Ringside News.
