The Nexus was formed after the 2010 season of Tough Enough. The eight members of that faction all went on to do different things, but John Cena certainly did number on the stable.

Heath Slater was among those Nexus members, and he remembers the experience well. While speaking to Adrian Hernandez of 1140 AM Las Vegas, the former WWE Superstar opened up about the faction’s current relationship with each other.

“We still got a group text. I swear to God, we do. Every one of us in it.”

“Darren Young, of course, too, because he’s my brother,” he said. Most recently, Heath and Gabriel (currently known as PJ Black) battled at the Figure Wrestling Federation in a “cool match” for Heath’s FWF Interstate title, which he successfully retained.

“Don’t get me wrong, we’re all still buddies. Ryback’s a little insane. I love him though, man. He’ll always be a brother.”

Heath said that he doesn’t hear from Michael Tarver or Daniel Bryan, but they’re both busy. Tarver is now a member of a Christian hip-hop artist. Of course, Daniel Bryan is now signed to All Elite Wrestling.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
