WWE is all about celebrating history, whether they are creating it or re-living the past. Nostalgia is an incredible drug, and it is certainly a performance enhancing boost for television viewership as well.

According to Wrestle Votes, WWE is already making big plans for the 30th anniversary of the longest running weekly episodic television show in history. This will also include a very famous venue for the show’s history.

I’m told plans are in motion for the 30th Anniversary of RAW show coming up in January. Prior to the new leadership taking over, having the show from The Manhattan Center again in NYC was on the table. I’m unaware if that’s still the case.

We will have to see how Triple H celebrates the 30th anniversary of RAW. He was not present for that historic date, but a lot of his friends were. They were also responsible for creating several memorable moments over the last three decades.

Please take a moment and check out the full lineup and notes from the first episode of WWE RAW, thanks to Pro Wrestling Fandom.

Other Segments

  • Doink the Clown is visible in the crowd during the Steiner Brothers/The Executioners match. The commentators reference this. He would return later in the Shawn Michaels/Max Moon match laughing into one of the ringside cameras. He did not actively interrupt any matches. To end the show, Vince McMahon interviewed Doink, which Crush interrupted.
  • Kamala turned babyface in this episode.
  • Mr Fuji accompanied Yokozuna to the ring and was ringside throughout his match.
  • Vince McMahon interviews Razor Ramon about his forthcoming match for the WWF Championship at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View against Bret Hart.
  • Bobby Heenan was shown trying to get into the arena several times during the show using various disguises. He never managed to get in. At the end of the show, Heenan is told he can enter the arena. Little did he know the show was over – and that ended the first ever episode of RAW.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
