Shawn Michaels is certainly one of the best in-ring performers to have ever graced a WWE ring. He was touted as Mr. WrestleMania and he truly lived up to the name. He also commented on NXT’s current version.

Michaels has always exceeded expectations when it comes to performing in a match. Many say that he was so good inside the ring, that HBK could even have a believable match with a broomstick.

After Triple H took charge of WWE Creative, he changed a lot of aspects of WWE. This included bringing back NXT to its black and gold theme. While speaking with Connor Casey of Comicbook, Shawn Michaels stated that he doesn’t consider NXT to be in a new era.

I certainly don’t want to undersell anything, but I don’t know that it’s a new era where there’s a big change.

Certainly, there was the Black and Gold, there was 2.0 and now we have, I think what I guess is a hybrid.

I mean, we don’t want this NXT to really have to be defined as anything other than your NXT, to be perfectly honest.

I don’t want this to be Hunter’s or Vince’s or even mine for that matter. This is the NXT that belongs to the men and women of NXT that come through our system and to those passionate and loyal fans that watch us some support us, to be perfectly honest.

Shawn Michaels is more than happy working in NXT right now. We’ll have to wait and see what’s next in store for him.
