Raquel Rodriguez was one of the highlights of NXT television, where she went on to become the NXT Women’s Champion. She helped mold the women’s division in the developmental brand as well.

Rodriguez was eventually called up to the main roster on Friday Night SmackDown. Before that, her name was changed as well. This is something she tried to fight against as well.

Speaking on the Ten Count on NBC Sport Boston, Raquel Rodriguez reflected on her multiple short tag team title reigns in the women’s division in NXT as well as the main roster. Rodrigeuz made it clear that she believes WWE should introduce a women’s Intercontinental Title.

“It’s bittersweet you know? You get a taste, I hate to quote Nacho Libre at this time in my life but you get a taste of a piece of the glory.

We have women from all over the world, from all over the country, from different backgrounds and different ethnicities. I think having an Intercontinental Championship, having a North American championship for the women would be something. Just a huge leap forward for the Women’s Division in wrestling in general.”

WWE currently has the Women’s Tag Team Championship, RAW Women’s Championship and Smackdown Women’s Championship. We’ll have to see if they’ll introduce a midcard title or not.
