Paige was forced to retire from in-ring competition in 2017 after she was kicked from behind during a WWE house show. She remained relevant in other roles for years afterwards, but her in-ring return was left unfulfilled.

The first-ever NXT Women’s Champion left the company back in July after WWE decided not to renew her contract for some reason. After waiting a couple of months, Paige did what she thought was best for her career.

Paige made her debut during AEW Grand Slam and utterly shocked fans. While speaking on the Grilling Jr podcast, Jim Ross made it clear that he wants Saraya to compete in AEW.

“Paige, Saraya, I’m assuming she’s going to be healthy enough to wrestle. I don’t know. I’m assuming she is. So we’ll see. She’s a positive addition if so. So it’s good for the women’s division, I think. She was a good hand and still is a good hand. I’m hoping that she’s healthy enough to go.”

WWE also wanted to bring back Paige after Triple H took over. We’ll have to see what Saraya will have to say on the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite.
