Samoa Joe won the Ring of Honor World Television Championship from Minoru Suzuki during a previous episode of AEW Dynamite. Joe successfully defended the title against Jay Lethal as well. Tonight, he found out his next challenger.

Samoa Joe cut a promo during Rampage tonight. Joe introduced himself to the Buffalo crowd and apologized for a his absence from AEW TV. Joe told the crowd he owed them a new level of violence.

Joe was interrupted by Mark Sterling, Tony Nese and Josh Woods. Sterling thanked Woods for saving his life this past Wednesday on Dynamite. He said Woods wanted a shot at Joe’s title.

Josh accepted and asked Woods to come to the ring for a match tonight on Rampage. Sterling said the match won’t happen in Buffalo this week. Joe and Woods will meet for the TV title next Friday on Rampage.
