WWE brought a pre-taped SmackDown this week prior to Clash at the Castle. They had a lot to do for the build-up before the huge UK event. How did the viewership turn out?

According to Spoiler TV, the September 2nd edition of SmackDown drew an overnight average of 1.952 viewers, with a .4 in the 18 to 49 demographic.

August 26th’s edition of WWE SmackDown scored 2.392 million viewers, with a .50 in the 18 to 49 demographic. SmackDown was pre-empted in Charlotte, Portland, New Orleans, and Las Vegas for pre-season NFL games. They saw a big boost because of that. When the final viewership came in from Showbuzz Daily, after the NFL pre-empting was taken out of the equation, SmackDown’s viewership was 1.990 million viewers. That is quite a drop from the 2.292 they previously charted.

The August 19th edition of WWE SmackDown raked in 2,084,000 viewers. They also captured a .47 in the 18 to 49 demographic.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
