WWE went through a lot of changes in the past few months, and odds are that shift will only continue. Vince McMahon previously nixed any name that legally belonged to a Superstar, so guys like Austin Theory and Matt Riddle had their names shortened. Triple H is changing the game, no pun intended.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani, Triple H opened up a bit about the company going back to real names. He explained that since Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle are going through such a real situation, then they need to add that “hyper real” factor.

He’s got a first name. It feels like we should give him that first name if we’re gonna go ‘hyper real,’ like you know, we should go hyper real on it.

Matt Riddle isn’t the only WWE Superstar to get his name back. Austin Theory received his first name once again, even though he would prefer to just be “Theory.”

Triple H’s idea of how WWE should be run is obviously different from Vince McMahon. Only time will tell what he does next to pique fan interest, but he certainly seems to be doing a good job of it so far.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
