WWE surprised fans and wrestlers alike when they released several NXT 2.0 superstars from their contracts in April 2022. In total, WWE released 10 performers from their contracts.

Most of the released superstars joined other promotions in the wake of their release. Former NXT 2.0 star Draco Anthony also returned to the independent circuit recently.

Now going by the name of Blake Cortez, the young wrestler made a surprise return to the promotion where it all started for him, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling.
