Update: WWE changed everything with a press release on Monday, July 25th when they announced that Triple H is now the head of WWE creative.

Original: Vince McMahon’s retirement might not have come to pass without his hush money endeavors coming to light, but it happened. Now WWE must operate under a new normal, but they also don’t want to change anything too drastically out of fear of shocking their shareholders. That being said, Vince McMahon was head of WWE creative and that spot needs to be filled.

Triple H’s return to talent relations made a lot of fans hope that he will get the book for WWE as well, but that is not the case. Despite fan sentiment, it appears that a Vince McMahon guy is still in command of the product’s direction on television.

A tenured member of the creative team confirmed with Ringside News that, “Bruce Prichard is, in theory, by title, head of creative.” Prichard was the Executive Director over RAW and SmackDown prior to this, and he eventually became the Interim Head of Talent Relations until Triple H took that role.

John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon both exited WWE due to this hush money scandal. That being said, the creative direction of the company is still under control, in theory, by Prichard. The Something To Wrestle With host and Ed Kosky ran gorilla for SmackDown on Friday.

Vince is retired, but his vision will live on forever. Only time will tell if WWE sees a grand creative shift, but it appears that things are not going to change too much in front of the camera for now.
